How is an Exercise Physiologist different from a Personal Trainer ?

An Exercise Physiologist is a nationally recognised Allied Health professional who is qualified to provide exercise rehabilitation for people with chronic and complex illness/injury. An Exercise Physiologist has attended university for 4 years and has a vast experience base in order to be accredited with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA). GPs can refer to an Exercise Physiologist under the national Enhanced Primary Care Program meaning that your GP referred Exercise Physiology session will attract a medicare rebate. Further, most major health funds provide rebates for Exercise Physiology services.
