Marcus retired from Rugby League 13 years ago and to help stay fit, he took up triathlons. It turns out that he has found his niche, as he has qualified for and competed in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships seven times and has completed over 30 ironman triathlons! Marcus has a special interest in running, cycling and swimming injury prevention and treatment. You will often see Marcus out running and riding amongst Wagga's strong cycling and triathlon communities.

Marcus also thrives in the area of neurological rehabilitation. Marcus has a strong reputation in the local and broader area for treating brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and stroke. 

 

Marcus enjoys the challenge of treating chronic and unusual injuries, has a strong background in rehabilitation and sports injury treatment, neurological rehab and preventative education.

 

Marcus's continuing education focuses include acupuncture, running and cycling biomechanics, sports injury rehabilitation, respiratory physiotherapy and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.

Marcus also works in the area of physiotherapy medico-legal report writing.

Alex has a strong sporting background with involvement in the Wagga tennis, netball, basketball, touch and water polo competitions over the past 10 years. She is a keen long distance runner, enjoys social road cycling and is kept busy with her two kids.

​

Alex has completed additional study in London specifically on complex injuries, assessment and treatment of the shoulder. Alex works closely with representative AFL teams and elite tennis players across NSW and regularly travels with elite teams. 

Alex has extensive skills as a women's health physiotherapist and has completed training in the management of pregnancy related pelvic girdle plan, pelvic floor retraining, stress and urge incontinence, prolapse and pessary fitting.

She also has comprehensive clinical skills in waterproof casting, dry needling, neurological rehab, orthopaedic rehab, worksite assessments, paediatrics, and cardiopulmonary rehab. 

​

Alex continues to undertake regular courses and maintains professional physiotherapy memberships to stay up to date with the latest evidence and best practice. Alex has completed further education in dry needling, spinal and cervical spine management, women's health, sports injuries and rehabilitation, shoulder assessment and rehabilitation (her special area of focus), strength and conditioning, lower limb biomechanical assessment, orthotic prescription and matwork and reformer pilates instruction.

Alex grew up in Gundagai and is an accomplished dancer, having achieved Grade 8 Plus, Royal Academy of Dance Intermediate level during her ballet career.

 

Alex has extensive experience in private practice musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has a strong reputation across the Riverina as being a very thorough and talented physiotherapist. She has completed additional courses in dry needling, upper and lower limb synthetic casting, diagnosis and management of cervical spine disorders and matwork, clinical reformer pilates and barre classes. 

Alex is also a women's health physiotherapist and has completed training in the management of pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain, pelvic floor retraining, stress and urge incontinence, prolapse and pessary fitting.
 

Alex is particularly interested in pilates, having studied extensively over the past few years in this area. Alex completed her pilates matwork and reformer training through APPI, Queensland Institute of Pilates and DMA. Alex is one of our pilates instructors who delivers classes to our clients every weekday. Alex also guides clients through private and semi private clinical pilates sessions. Alex is also qualified in pre- pointe ballet assessments.

Alex is extremely proud of her home town and has been an integral force in bringing Synergy Healthworks 'home' to Gundagai. 

We were lucky enough to find Lexi just as she was returning home to the Riverina after living and working in Queensland, Canberra and abroad. 

 

Lexi completed her undergraduate and post graduate studies at The University of Canberra. Lexi then went on to manage The Sports Medicine Centre in Canberra. At that time, she was head physiotherapist for the Canberra Darters in the Australian Netball League, on the medical team for the National Touch League, was primary physiotherapist for Netball ACT under 19 and 21s, primary referee physiotherapist for the Touch World Cup and Trans Tasman Youth series. She was also Wagga's Junior State Cup Touch physio, a part of the National Taekwando Championships medical team and was recently physio for the Redlands United Football (soccer) Club in the National Premier League.

Lexi broadened her experience in New Zealand and then Queensland. Lexi has extensive experience in sports physiotherapy, reformer and matwork pilates, back and spinal physiotherapy, dry needling, advanced taping techniques, and work related rehabilitation. 

​

Lexi has a done additional training and placement in women's health physiotherapy, with a focus on pelvic floor retraining, stress and urge incontinence, prolapse and pessary fitting. 

​

Lexi is an outdoorsy person- she loves hiking, going to the gym, cross fit, playing netball, touch, tennis, swimming and going horse riding.

Tom has come to us as an experienced physiotherapist. Originally from Coleambally, Tom is an avid sportsman, with his interests being focussed on cricket, AFL, rugby, tennis, squash and golf.

Tom has a broad range of musculoskeletal private practice and hospital experience, but his special affinities with additional training are towards sports and shoulder physiotherapy, spinal injuries, paediatrics, head and neck conditions including jaw pain and vertigo, chronic pain, men's health and dry needling.

Tom has completed a range of volunteer physiotherapy work with elite sporting groups including AFL and rugby union teams, as well as having worked with children with disabilities in Vietnam. Tom is a qualified reformer pilates instructor and currently runs reformer pilates classes, including a men's clinical reformer class. He has experience in strength, reconditioning and falls prevention classes. He has also has experience in cardiac and respiratory rehabilitation.

Bridget completed a Bachelor of Health Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney . Bridget grew up in Wagga where she attended Kildare Catholic College.

Bridget is a country girl at heart. She can be spotted around Wagga riding horses, taking her dogs for a run, or playing waterpolo and netball. 

 

Bridget spent a number of years working as a Senior Physiotherapist in Sydney. Bridget takes particular interest in injuries of the lower limb, sports rehab, and swimming and running assessments. Bridget has completed additional professional development in sports training and taping. She has done additional shoulder and back injury training, and formal training in the biomechanics of swimming.

Bridget is also trained in clinical pilates and women's health.

 

We are very blessed that Bridget chose Synergy as her workplace. Her desire to come back to Wagga to return to her roots is a total win for us!

Simone is a born and bred Wagga girl! As a student, Simone was involved in swimming, hockey and tennis. She enjoys the odd bit of snowboarding and paddle boarding too.

 

Simone completed her undergraduate studies at Wollongong University where she represented the uni for 2 seasons in hockey. Simone then went on to complete a Doctor of Physiotherapy in Sydney at Macquarie University.

 

Simone has always had a passion for health and fitness and has worked as a personal trainer for a few years whilst studying. Simone has a broad range of experience as a physiotherapist in hospitals, private practice and occupational rehab settings.

 

Simone’s key interests lie in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, lymphoedema treatment, women's health and neurological rehabilitation.

 

Simone is also a qualified Level 1 Sports Trainer and has worked with Redfield Rugby, Balmain Rugby, Women's AFL, Junior AFL as well as local clubs in Wagga. Simone covered the winning under 13s boys Sydney soccer team at the 2017 National championships in Coffs Harbour.

 

Simone is a qualified matwork and reformer pilates instructor. 

Logan completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. Logan grew up in Narrandera and is excited to be back home enjoying the country life again.

Logan is an avid footballer and runner and has developed a keen interest in elite sports injuries. He has completed his Advanced Dry Needling and APA Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy Level 2.

 

Logan gained clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation in Canberra and works closely with a large number of clients here at Synergy Healthworks with extreme mobility challenges including spinal injuries and stroke rehabilitation. Logan has also worked closely with AFL NSW and the GWS Giants Academy over the last few years.

Logan runs hydrotherapy sessions in Wagga and can be found working in both our Wagga and Narrandera clinics. 

Steve completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy at Charles Sturt University and graduated with Distinction. Steve excelled through university, where he received numerous awards for academic achievement, including the Australian Physiotherapy Association Award for best in Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy across all campuses, and 3 University Dean's awards.

Steve is an avid Snowboarder and loves playing basketball and netball. He has developed a keen interest in Snow Sports related injuries. Steve has completed his Advanced Dry needling course, as well as soccer and football injury prevention and rehabilitation 

 

Steve gained clinical experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy at Port Kembla Hospital and in cardiopulmonary and intensive care at Wagga Rural Referral Hospital. Steve's interests lie in vestibular & vertigo rehabilitation, sports physiotherapy and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.
